Former Washington Nationals Pitcher Odalis Perez Dead After Fall From Ladder: Report

Former Major League and Washington Nationals pitcher Odalis Perez died after falling from a ladder while along at his home in the Dominican Republic this week, ESPN reports.

The 44-year-old former pitcher was found by his brother lying on the patio around 7 p.m., the outlet said citing another former MLB player, Walin Batista.

Perez made his MLB debut in 1998 with the Atlanta Braves and was traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers three years later. 

He later joined the Nationals in 2008 where delivered the first pitch in the history of Nationals Park. Perez was 44.
