The 44-year-old former pitcher was found by his brother lying on the patio around 7 p.m., the outlet said citing another former MLB player, Walin Batista.
Perez made his MLB debut in 1998 with the Atlanta Braves and was traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers three years later.
He later joined the Nationals in 2008 where delivered the first pitch in the history of Nationals Park. Perez was 44.
